Student visa/ Tier-4

Student visa/ Tier-4

This application is only for the applicants that are 16 or over and trying to seek admission to an authorised place of study in the United Kingdom. Our immigration lawyers have assisted many students in acquiring entrance to the UK to pursue their chosen education. We acknowledge that British educational institutions are worldwide recognised as centres of quality and that possessing such credentials may provide substantial advantages when seeking future work. As a result, the experience of our department at Abbott and Harris Solicitors will ensure that your application has the highest chance of success.

Eligibility

It is essential when applying through this route that the candidate has an unconditional offer on a programme. In addition, this offer must come from a Tier 4 Sponsor who is licenced.

Courses suitable for this path include the following:

  • If working full-time, the candidate must fulfil level 6 of the ‘Ofqual Register.’ Among these are the following:
  • Apprenticeship of a degree
  • a degree with honours, such as a bachelor of arts (BA) Hons or a bachelor of science (BSc) Hons
  • A certificate of graduation
  • A diploma of graduation
  • An award of level 6
  • a certificate of level 6
  • a diploma of level 6
  • a level 6 NVQ\
  • Ordinary degree without honours
  • An overseas degree-level study programme that is recognised as being equal to a UK Higher education course and is offered by an overseas HEI;
  • A full-time programme is comprising a least of 15 hours per week scheduled daytime study (daytime study being 8 am – 6 pm, Monday to Friday) and (unless in the case of a pre-sessional course) leading to a certificate below degree level, but at a minimum of RQF Level 3 or its equivalents. o Enrolling in an approved Foundation Programme in the UK as a postgraduate doctor or dentist; o Working as a Student Union Sabbatical Officer at your Tier 4 sponsored institution or the National Union of Students.
  • The applicant must show that they fulfil the maintenance criteria – that they have enough money to sustain themselves and pay for their education.
  • English language proficiency at the B1 level or higher is required (B2 for degree level and above)

As a points-based application, the applicant must meet the requirements listed above to be considered for this option. In addition, you must receive detailed guidance from our immigration department to ensure that your application passes the statutory level. We have completed several applications using this approach, securing students’ study at British universities. Our immigration lawyers will ensure that every possible route is explored to give your application the best chance of success.

Family Members?

This approach allows for the sponsorship of family members. However, this is only possible when the following conditions are met:

  • The main applicant is sponsored by their respective governments for a course that lasts more than six months.
  • A higher education institution has sponsored the main candidate to pursue a level 7 course that will last more than nine months.
  • The main applicant is a doctoral student enrolled in the Doctorate Extension Scheme.

Settlement?

Unfortunately, the Tier 4 student visa option does not result in permanent residence. However, you can change from this category to one that will allow you to do so. Visit our team of immigration experts in either of our London locations to ensure that you are informed of all the options available to you when your Tier 4 visa is expiring.
